AUDIOBOOKS: Abridged v Unabridged?
whats the difference?
Unabridged they read the whole thing.
Abridged is like the Reader’s Digest condensed version. The abridged is where they just read you enough to get the gist of the novel. It is really like turning a novel into a short story or novella.
For instance, I had the opportunity to listen to a Tom Clancy novel. The abridged was on 4 cassette tapes. The unabridged was on 42 CD’s. Quite a difference, wouldn’t you say?
