How did Edgar Allan Poes ‘madness’ or psychopathology affect his writings?
I’m writing a paper and my topic is how Edgar Allan Poes ‘madness’ made him the great writer he was. I need help finding websites and info. If you have any info you can give please give.
His madness, often drug induced, but still the man had major problems, actually allowed his writing to become what it is florid, lucid and terrifying, the details coming from his sick drugged mind. He is said to have invented, by accident or intent we will never know, the detective novel. I don’t think he thought of himself as a success. I don’t think he realized his writings would endure.
