Who is Boston Blackie?
Excellent question!
Boston Blackie was the name of one of the first TV private eyes and goes way back to the early ’50s. We’re talking before the day when everyone had a TV, programs were in black and white, most cities had only one station and programs were only available for a small portion of the day.
I was maybe 7 or 8 and had to go to my aunt’s house to watch it. The thing I remember most is that he could get in a fight, get thrown out of a moving car and roll down a hill but never lose his hat! That was his trademark .
