Why isn’t my pc picking up my speakers or my headphones?
I recently upgraded my pc, put in a new motherboard, video card and ram and installed windows 7, and now i can only get sound through my monitor. I have the HDMI cord connected properly, the speakers are also plugged in correctly and i can’t even get my headphones to pick up sound from the jack in the front of my pc. I thought maybe it was a problem with sound drivers? but i thought 7 was a superior version of vista, and vistas generic drivers served me well for a while. what i would like to know is how can i fix this? Please kind anon’s….
OK, so no, it’s not muted, and i tried that already, it’s not even detecting the speakers. **insert rage face here** starting to get a little annoyed….
I did almost the same thing and here is what I did:
Go to Start
Control Panel
System
Device Manager
Right click “disable sound/speakers”
restart or reboot computer
Go back into steps 1-4
Right click
And Click Enable Speakers
Click ok to test them
